In the years prior to eating a plant based diet, my cholesterol has been slightly high but never so high that I’ve had to really worry about it.

Given we only eat plants, I like to be sure we are getting enough of everything we need and I was interested to see what my cholesterol level was doing. I recently had a blood test to check my levels.
B12, iron,… everything was excellent for my age. My overall cholesterol is normal but LDL is slightly high at 3 when it should be less than 2.5

I’ve read information about Amla being really effective in helping to drop cholesterol levels.

Amla is also known as Indian gooseberries. Studies show that 1 teaspoon a day of powdered Amla will drop cholesterol significantly. I’ve just started adding it to my breakfast of rolled oats, banana and blueberries or strawberries. It tastes good..a little tart like citrus.
